How many hours (and dollars) is this week of clock-ins?

Enter start/end and unpaid lunch per day. The page totals hours and can apply a flat hourly rate. It is a check against a handwritten timesheet, not a full payroll system (no PTO accruals, no union rules).

Overnight shifts

If you clock out after midnight, the end time is “next day.” Related: one shift if you only have tonight, overtime if hours cross 40.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I calculate hours from a time card?
For each day, subtract the clock-in time from the clock-out time, then subtract any unpaid break time. Add up the daily totals across the week to get total hours worked.
How do I convert time card hours to decimal?
Divide the minutes portion by 60 and add it to the hours. For example, 7 hours 30 minutes becomes 7 + (30/60) = 7.5 decimal hours. This calculator does this conversion automatically for each day and the weekly total.
How are unpaid breaks handled?
Enter unpaid break minutes for each day (e.g. a 30-minute lunch break) and the calculator subtracts that time from the hours worked before totaling, since unpaid breaks aren't counted as work time.
Can this calculator handle overnight shifts?
Yes. If your clock-out time is earlier than your clock-in time (e.g. clock in at 22:00, clock out at 06:00), the calculator automatically treats the shift as crossing midnight into the next day.
How do I calculate weekly pay from a time card?
Enter your hourly rate in the optional rate field, and the calculator multiplies your total weekly hours by that rate to show total pay. Leave the rate field blank if you only want total hours.
What if I only work some days of the week?
Simply leave the clock-in and clock-out fields blank for days you didn't work — the calculator will skip those days and only total the days with entries.
Does this calculator account for overtime pay?
No, this tool totals regular hours and pay at a flat rate. For overtime calculations at 1.5x pay, use the dedicated time and a half calculator.
