Tree Removal Cost Calculator
Estimate the cost to remove a tree based on its height and complexity factors like power line proximity, difficult access, and stump grinding.

What Does This Tree Removal Cost Calculator Do?
This calculator estimates how much it costs to remove a tree from your property. Select the tree's approximate height, check any complexity factors that apply (power line proximity, difficult access, and whether you want stump grinding included), and get an estimated total cost range.
How the Estimate Is Calculated
The base cost comes from the tree's height tier. Complexity factors are applied as percentage multipliers on top of the base cost, and stump grinding is added as a flat additional range:
Total Cost = Adjusted Cost + Stump Grinding (if selected)
Worked Example: Medium Tree Near Power Lines
- Medium tree base cost: $400 - $900
- Near power lines (+25%): $500 - $1,125
- Total estimated cost: $500 - $1,125
Factors That Affect Tree Removal Cost
- Tree height and diameter: The single biggest driver of cost
- Proximity to power lines: Requires extra caution and sometimes utility coordination
- Access difficulty: Tight spaces mean more manual labor and less heavy equipment use
- Stump grinding: An optional add-on service, priced separately from removal
- Local labor rates and permits: Vary significantly by region and municipality
